Belong Macclesfield wins housing award

Hardly had the champagne corks stopped popping at the Wigan ceremony than John Galvin, Chief Executive of the Elderly Accommodation Counsel, announced that Belong Macclesfield had been selected as a finalist for the EAC Housing for Older People Awards.
The EAC is a national charity that offers advice and information about accommodation and care for older people – it listed the village as a finalist after it was nominated by a number of its residents! Out of 540 facilities considered, only 6% made it through to the finals.
The awards ceremony took place at Lord’s Cricket Grounds on February 4, 2010, where Belong Macclesfield won the Bronze award for the best UK housing with care scheme category under 30 units.
Belong Macclesfield is already the proud holder of the Pinders Healthcare Design Award which it won in 2008.
“We are starting to run out of places to display these awards!”, said Tracy.
