Babies and bumps - but Kitty (98) has seen it all before!

There was definitely something in the air when Belong Wigan, opened just after St.Valentine’s Day last year.
For no fewer than ten members of the Belong team have either had babies since then or are expecting within the next few weeks.
The village, in-keeping with the Belong philosophy of helping its residents to remain young and active, held a ‘babies and bumps’ get-together this week for all ten. Five of them, with their infants, and already on maternity leave, met the five with their ‘bumps’ who were preparing to go on maternity leave.
They were joined by sprightly 98-year-old resident Kitty Hodgkiss who is one of the village’s champion mums having produced five children of her own.
“Kitty was delighted to join the party and she is a great example of the young-at-heart spirit you find in our older residents”, said General Manager Gill Menguy.
“Of course, it has been a real headache finding maternity cover in the last few months, but I can’t really complain – after all, one of the ‘bumps’ is my own daughter, Olivia”!
