Residents get in the Christmas spirit at village fayre

Community village, Belong Crewe, was decked in boughs of holly and tinsel recently, as members of the local community joined residents to spread some Christmas cheer at the village’s very own Christmas fayre.
There was festive fun for all the family at the village, as residents and guests enjoyed a variety of events and activities to get them in the Christmas spirit. Children visited Santa in his unique double-decker bus style Grotto, and enjoyed taking part in activities such as face painting, a ‘guess the sweets’ competition, and lots of festive Christmas games.
The sound of Christmas carols rang though the village as locals and residents browsed a selection of stalls selling jewellery, scarves, clothes, jams and pickles, and arts and crafts, while some indulged in a glass of wine for a celebratory Christmas tipple.
Winter warmers, such as Hot Chocolate and Jacket Potatoes were sold in the village Bistro, and the village beauty salon donated an exclusive beauty gift to the raffle and tombola.
Activities facilitator at Belong Crewe, Lee Edwards, who organised the event, said: “We had a wonderful time at the fayre. There was a great atmosphere and everyone really enjoyed getting into the Christmas spirit. The residents were delighted to welcome the local community into their home, as it gave them the opportunity to interact with different people from the area.”
