Rachel Worthington, a Support Worker from Beech household at Belong Macclesfield, on Kennedy Avenue, has raised over £500 for Dementia UK by taking part in a charity skydive with her father.
Speaking of the event, Rachel said: "When we heard about the opportunity to do a skydive for Dementia UK, all the girls that I work with were talking about taking part, but for one reason or another they had to pull out, so I roped my Dad into doing it with me. I've never done anything like this before, and it was an absolutely exhilarating, once-in-a-lifetime experience. Plus we jumped from the plane over the Lake District, so the views were incredible."
Rachel was sponsored by friends, family and co-workers at Belong Macclesfield, and paid the cost of the tandem skydive herself so that all money raised went directly to Dementia UK.
Dementia UK works in partnership with Belong to promote and develop the Admiral Nursing service, whilst upholding standards, sustaining service and supporting Admiral Nurses in practice. This service is free for all Belong customers who have a diagnosis of dementia and provides specialist support and advice to families and carers.
