Staff at Belong Warrington have treated residents, customers and their families to a right royal knees-up, in a special party held to mark the second anniversary of the Belong community.
Our ground-breaking village opened in August 2014 and has since been providing 24-hour support to customers in household suites and also offers apartments for independent living, as well as high quality day care and home care services for people living with dementia. Belong Warrington also provides facilities including a bistro, hair salon, exercise studio, function room and therapy room.
General Manager, Janine Curwell, said: “We are really proud of the community we have built here in Warrington, and of the fabulous work our staff are doing to improve people’s quality of life. The party was an opportunity to toast the past two years in our village, and we look forward to many more to come! It was a great afternoon; enjoyed by customers, families and staff members alike.”
The celebration saw a guest performer provide live musical entertainment, encouraging residents to join in by handing out instruments and props. Residents enjoyed listening to songs from their favourite musical eras; a form of reminiscence therapy that has been shown to be particularly beneficial for people living with dementia, stimulating cognitive ability as well as being therapeutic.
The party was held in The Bistro, where staff made a homemade cake, inviting residents to blow out the birthday candles and raise a glass to the memories and friendships that have been made in Belong Warrington over the past two years.
