Belong at Home Macclesfield rated ‘Good’ by Care Quality Commission

Belong Macclesfield, has been rated ‘good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for its Belong at Home domiciliary care service.
The CQC found that Belong at Home Macclesfield was ‘safe, person centred, sensitive and compassionate.’ It commended Belong at Home’s emphasis on recruiting staff who are suitable to work with vulnerable people and noted that all staff members were strongly committed to making a difference, speaking passionately and proudly about the people that they supported. Customers commented that the service is their lifeline and staff members feel like an extended family.
CQC inspectors were also impressed with Belong at Home’s focus on customer’s health needs and the support given to customers to help them to maintain good health and access the healthcare services that they required.
Caroline Ray, General Manager of Belong Macclesfield, said: “Belong at Home have redefined home care through drive and commitment to continually provide a quality service.
“We are delighted that Macclesfield has been acknowledged for enabling Belong at Home customers to remain safe and independent in their own homes.”
Belong at Home users are also supported to use Belong village facilities including the exercise studio, therapy room and adapted bathrooms, as the service acknowledges the importance of customers socialising in a community environment.
The Belong at Home service provides personalised care to customers in their own home, who require help with daily tasks, ranging from washing, bathing, administering medication and cooking meals, to attending appointments and going shopping, enabling customers to continue to live independently.
The CQC inspection evaluated the service in five categories, including reporting on whether the home care is ‘caring’ and ‘well-led,’ by speaking to several people who have experienced the service, including customers and their relatives.
