Belong Morris Feinmann is stepping up preparations for its new community village for the Jewish community, which is set to open in Didsbury this summer.
The appointment of Carolyn Ball as Front of House Manager and Matt Maddocks as Bistro and Catering Manager, adds two new members to the team, who will be instrumental in the smooth running of the village, including its extensive village centre facilities, such as kosher bistro, hair salon, exercise studio and library.
Belong Morris Feinmann will offer 24-hour support, including specialist nursing and dementia care to older people in Manchester’s Jewish community, thanks to a partnership between Belong, and the Morris Feinmann Homes Trust.
Carolyn has several years of administration and management experience and has worked in various Belong villages. In her most recent role, she was instrumental in setting up the latest Belong village in Warrington, where she has been Front of House Manager for the past two years.
Matt had previously been Morris Feinmann’s head chef for ten years and while the new Belong village was under construction, worked as Kitchen Manager at Allingham House, a Jewish nursing home in Timperley, South Manchester. Matt will be responsible for overseeing kosher kitchens on the six households, as well as in the village’s bistro and brings to Belong Morris Feinmann his wealth of knowledge about Jewish dietary requirements and vast experience in catering for older people.
Phil Orton, Head of People at Belong, said: “We are delighted to welcome both Carolyn and Matt to the Belong Morris Feinmann team. Their strong track records make them ideally placed for these new leadership positions within the new Belong Morris Feinmann village team.”
The development will be the sixth Belong village in the North West and will comprise six households, each catering for 12 people in their own en-suite facilities and with a private lounge, dining room and kosher kitchen in every household. The village also includes 13 new one and two-bedroomed independent living apartments for rent or purchase and a hub of facilities including a kosher bistro, synagogue, exercise studio, internet cafe and library.
