The Salon at Belong Macclesfield proved a cut above the rest when it comes to supporting the community when stylists gave up their time to offer free hair styles to customers. The generous gesture was inspired by Good Morning Britain's One Million Minutes campaign, which encourages volunteers to give as little as 30 minutes to support older people, in an effort to combat loneliness in communities.

Salon manager, Audrey Wilson, of Wilson’s Hairdressing and her team of six stylists gave up their day off to take over the on-site salon at Belong Macclesfield, where residents and experience day visitors were treated to new hair dos and got to have a good chat too. In total, this amounted to over 300 minutes contributed towards the campaign.

Gina Moorjani, experience coordinator at Belong Macclesfield, commented: “The customers always enjoy having their hair done, so they were delighted when Audrey and her team came to offer their services for free. On behalf of Belong and everyone who benefited, I would like to thank the Wilson’s Hairdressing team for their kindness in volunteering their time and skills.”
