We are committed to empowering everyone who lives at Belong by helping people to achieve, maintain or recover independence.

We recognise that age or illness is no barrier to an individual regaining life skills or indeed learning new. Often there is an assumption that people with dementia cannot benefit from rehabilitation, and people have sometimes been excluded form the opportunity of a period of intensive support. We would like to offer everyone that chance of regaining independence and returning to their home.

Our aim at Belong is to work with residents, families and professionals to restore each person's confidence and ability to self manage those aspects of life that are most the important for the individual. Very often we do prevent people having to go into hospital, or indeed ensure an early discharge home if hospital treatment is needed.

Very often after a period of intensive rehabilitation many of our residents will return to independent living either in our Belong village or a return home feeling confident and supported.
