As part of the Belong group – Aspire offers learning and development opportunities for all staff

Our ultimate goal for Belong is to “develop a highly motivated, skilled and customer focussed workforce.”

Aspire Training Courses taking place

It is our people that really make the difference to our customers and they need to be able to deliver on the Belong values in all that they do.

We believe that it is crucial that all of our staff have the opportunity to learn and develop how to provide excellent care and support services for our customers. Through learning and development our people will be equipped with the skills to respond to customers needs in a professional and confident manner.

Life Long Learning

Belong encourages ‘life long learning’ to all staff so that they can constantly renew and extend their skills and knowledge in ways that help them to move up through the ‘career framework’.

Our aim is to ensure that people have a job that is satisfying and an opportunity to develop skills that enable them to advance their career.  The career framework will offer the opportunity to step on or off at various points in their career i.e. as a school leaver starting out or in mid-later life as a second career.

Through Aspire, Belong aims to improve our standards of health and social care provision for Older People, through training and development, workforce planning and workforce intelligence.

The dedicated learning and development team at Aspire have a wide portfolio of learning and development activities that people can use to develop their skills and knowledge. These range from induction training for all new staff to NVQ’s, levels 2, 3, 4 and developmental learning activities such as personalised coaching around their job role.

We think that it is important to work in partnership with other specialist providers to meet the need of all staff. These providers are able to bespoke courses to meet the specific needs that the organisation has in providing person centred care for its customers.

Training Development Plan

Member of staff at Belong

To ensure that each staff member receives the correct level of support and training, a development plan is devised with their line manager. This plan is individual to each staff member and records all aspects of learning and development that they have completed. It also records future learning and development activities that are around developing their skills and knowledge.

We think it is vital to celebrate the varied successes of our staff. To do this Aspire holds a yearly award ceremony where all staff are recognised for the hard work and commitment they have shown in gaining nationally recognised awards.
