Experience coordinator at Belong Crewe care village, Natalie Ravenscroft, has been recognised as one of 50 people making Britain a happier place in The Independent’s Happy List 2018.
Natalie, 33, works at the dementia-championing care village with responsibility for the development and implementation of activities suitable for customers of varying ages and abilities. She was shortlisted for the 10th national Happy List for her work organising events at the village, most recently Crewe’s first ever Silver Pride event which celebrated LGBT culture for members of the community over the age of 55. One person who nominated her commented on the event, saying: “Natalie and the team created a fun, stigma-busting space for people to feel comfortable expressing who they are.”
The nomination came as a complete surpise to Natalie, who reportedly “cried down the phone” when she received the news: “I was in total shock! To feature as one of the 50 happiest people in all of Britain is such an honour; I feel so humbled and grateful to whoever nominated me.
“As someone who thrives on making people happy, organising events for the customers at Belong Crewe every day is my dream job. I get such a buzz out of pleasing people and seeing their reactions, and I am beyond delighted at this incredible outcome. I still can’t quite believe it!”
Born in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, Natalie resides in Whitchurch, Shropshire with her husband and two children.
