Karan Shingler, village nurse manager at Belong Morris Feinmann, in Didsbury, Manchester, has beaten off competition from around the country to win the ‘Palliative Care/End of Life’ at the national finals of the Great British Care Awards.
The judges said that Karan, of Hyde, Greater Manchester, deserved to win the award for her passion, professionalism and drive, particularly in helping her team towards achieving national ‘Six Steps’ accreditation for its end of life care strategy. She was also praised for her motivating and inspiring leadership style, constantly striving to improve standards of care for those on end-of-life pathways.
Deborah Baker, General Manager of Belong Morris Feinmann, said: “I am thrilled that Karan’s hard work has been recognised at a national level. She works tirelessly to care for customers and treats them and their families with the highest levels of compassion, sensitivity and respect. She fully deserves this success.”
Karan earned her place in the national finals after winning at the Great North West Care Awards last year.
