Fairy princesses, pussycats and superheroes descended on Belong Wigan, on Millers Lane, when Belong customers were joined on World Book Day by 70 children from Platt Bridge Community School Nursery. The children, who dressed as characters from their favourite books, performed nursery rhymes as part of the school's Big Little Rhyme Along activity for World Book Day.
Belong Wigan General Manager, Gill Menguy, said: "This was a fantastic opportunity for two generations to meet, and it was lovely to see how hard the children had all worked to learn their nursery rhymes. Some of the staff from the village dressed up as book characters to welcome them, and the children particularly enjoyed meeting Laura Taylor, who lives in Cedar house and is 100 years old."
Joanne Bradbury, Nursery Teacher at Platt Bridge Community School Nursery, said: "Our visit to Belong Wigan was a wonderful experience for the children and is sure to be a talking point for a long time. It's so important that the children get to experience all aspects of our local community. They really enjoyed their trip the Belong village."
