My aunt has been under the care of Belong Crewe (Britannia House) since summer 2020. She has dementia and as is the nature of this illness, has declined gradually since her admission.
The Belong staff led by management supported by their team of care assistants and supported by Belong at Home, a team that provides daily companionship visits have been exemplary and deserve, thoroughly, their recent National Care award. All residents live in small households with communal kitchen, dining and lounge facilities. The staff work amongst the residents and in my visits I have been impressed by the degree of interaction between staff and residents. There is no feeling of isolation that you sometimes see in other homes. The residents are treated like members of family. Communication with family is excellent and the daily care story keeps the family fully informed of my aunt's daily condition and welfare. My aunt is happy, secure and safe. This is to the credit of Belong.

"Always a good impression when we visit. The staff are always pleasant, welcoming and responsive. They care for the residents and visitors alike, nothing seems too much trouble. We would highly recommend Belong."

"My dad moved to Belong Crewe in October 2023, he came from another care home, and since being at Belong, he no longer spends his days in his room, he sits in the communal lounge watching TV and reading his paper. The staff are very kind to him, he is always in clean clothes and happy. The staff try very hard to get him to do activities, in the early days. When I visit we go to the bistro for our lunch, the staff there are lovely, and I am very happy and so are my family that Dad got a room at Belong, highly recommended. It is now enjoyable to visit Dad and see a smile on his face."

"The experienced staff are fantastic with our Mum. They are caring and very sensitive to her needs. The activities on a daily basis are imaginative and fun, keeping Mum interested."

"Belong is a welcoming and caring environment for residents, relatives and staff. My mum has revived wonderful and compassionate care from the staff in her household and the wider Belong community, in particular, the hairdressers, receptionists and bistro staff. Household staff always have time to update me on Mum's day and try very hard to encourage her to eat and drink, which can be very challenging as she often struggles to understand how to eat and has difficulty recognising food. Staff engage Mum in conversation, and this has improved her communication recently, and I feel this has made her happier. "

"Dad arrived here during Covid and was very confused and upset as he didn’t really understand what was happening. He was also very frail from being in hospital for many weeks. The care and love Dad received from his 1st day was amazing! He quickly began to enjoy himself and physically became stronger. He joined in events and activities and the staff took the time to really get to know him. At the end of his life, the staff were incredible. They cared for him like he was their own family. They kept us fully informed at all times and in the last few days were so kind and thoughtful allowing us to stay with Dad the whole time. We cannot recommend Belong enough and thank them for everything they did for our lovely dad."

"My husband has been in Belong since December with dementia. I cannot praise the staff enough. He could not have received better care anywhere. The carers are so thoughtful and kind and are always on hand to assist with any problems or calm down any anxieties that arise. There is an online website where the day's events and issues are documented in detail. This is secure and can only be accessed by close relatives. One can then message carers on that site with any queries and they will be answered promptly. There are numerous activities, giving more opportunities to communicate with others and challenge all kinds of abilities, much more so than at home. I highly recommend Belong to anyone looking for reliable, friendly care for a loved one. "

"From the time my husband was admitted to Belong Crewe care home he was treated with compassion and actual care could not be faulted. We were always contacted when he had to go to the hospital which was many times during 2022/2023 and told of his arrival back at the home. The staff were always very polite and very helpful. in fact. my family have always said their dad could not have been looked after any better. We truly say thank you."

"I have been exceptionally impressed with Belong Crewe. Mum and Dad moved into their new home early in the year. Unfortunately mum passed away six weeks later. I was so comforted that she was in an environment where love, comfort and care were top priorities. Staff were attentive to not only the psychological well-being of my father at that time but of the whole family. My father has always been a quiet man and when mum was poorly, he rarely left his room. Fortunately, due to the care, compassion and perseverance of the staff, he appears to have metamorphosed into a very confident and sociable character, despite his battle with Alzheimer's. He now regularly attends all the superb activities which are on offer and enjoys helping the carers with everyday activities which he would have done at home."

"My mum has been staying in Belong Crewe for the past three months on a respite basis with a view to securing a permanent place there pending social services assessment. As with my dad (who was there for two years), she has received the most excellent care. The staff have soon responded and adapted their care to mum's needs. She quickly settled in due to their superb approach. I wouldn't want mum to be in any other care home."

"Very professional and made the moving process very easy. Can be very stressful moving my dad in, but felt so at ease with the help and support given. Very clean and spotless - feels like a home from home. Highly recommended!"

"As sad and as hard as this situation is for my family, seeing how all the staff, as soon as you walk in the door at reception, to the management, bistro, housekeepers and the amazing care team, are so passionate, patient and understanding with the residents; it's very reassuring, especially when you have to leave after your visit. The care I have witnessed first-hand that not only my nan has received but other residents are very humbling. The staff are always doing their best to make sure that the care they are providing is 5-star, with a smile in a busy and fast-paced environment. Well done for all your hard work; it really does shine through, and for giving my family peace of mind whilst my nan is in your care."

"Such a caring, attentive and supportive place, with staff that are so dedicated and empathetic to all. As you arrive at reception, you are greeted with a warm glow, that continues throughout. All needs are met, and activities/entertainment are so purposeful and well received. Activities are well planned and structured to suit the individual, as is the case with the households, clean, tidy, and homely with wonderful food and comfort."

"I cannot recommend Belong Crewe village highly enough. My mum lives in an apartment, and my dad is in Belong nursing care. The quality of care is exceptional for both parents, and I know my dad is safe and in excellent care. The carers treat both Mum and Dad as though they are family. Any concerns I have are always dealt with professionally and in a supportive manner. Thank you for making later years easier and making Mum and Dad happy."

"My mother went to Belong after having an illness that had progressed very quickly, resulting in her need for 24 hour care. All the staff from reception, bistro, management, housekeepers and ultimately the wonderful support workers, are exceptional. The care my mother receives gives me piece of mind, as I know the attention given to her is fantastic. She has lost a lot of weight and is struggling with drinking and eating, but the staff constantly offer different options to try and tempt her. Thank you to all involved in making my mum as happy as possible."
