Belong is, above all, inclusive, in that we want everyone living or working with us to feel a sense of belonging and ownership as a valued and important member of our community. We know we’ve succeeded when residents and colleagues report that being in their village is ‘home from home’.
Not-for-profit
As a not-for-profit organisation, Belong’s charitable objectives focus on providing high quality support and accommodation for older people, primarily through our vibrant community villages and bespoke home care service. We reinvest any surpluses with a view to continuously improving our provision and we are always exploring new opportunities, technologies and ideas that could make life better for those living with us.

Belong Chester’s official opening sparked national and international interest in the ground-breaking results being witnessed at our intergenerational care village, where older people and young children live and learn together.
In the media
Close collaboration with our partners, Ready Generations, who operate the Nursery in Belong Chester, ensures that intergenerational opportunities are embedded in daily life. From a multi-generational choir to ‘prambles’ along the canal, and storytelling to dance workshops, there is always plenty going on, as well as simple pleasures, such as gardening and dining together. This specialist day care service offers meaningful experiences and the chance to get involved in our community. From classic film screenings to poetry reading, exercise sessions to local history and crafts to flower arranging, this is a refreshing and unique alternative to conventional day care.

Expert dementia care
At the heart of our vision is the aim to transform quality of life for people with dementia.
We create environments that maximise independence and promote a fulfilling lifestyle, through a range of facilities and research-based building design. We provide extensive training to our people and employ specialist Admiral Nurses who work with families, carers and colleagues to put into practice effective strategies for supporting people with dementia.
