Thank you for your recent enquiry about our Belong Birkdale village, our state-of-the-art care village under construction on Oxford Road in Birkdale, Southport, which is scheduled to open early Autumn 2026.

Belong Birkdale will provide a range of services and housing options to meet people’s aspirations and needs as they change through later life. These include 30 independent living apartments, and for those with more intensive support needs, six homely households providing residential, nursing and dementia care for up to 12 residents in each one. Every resident has their own spacious en-suite facilities which lead onto shared, open plan living, kitchen and dining facilities within the household.

At the heart of the village is a hub of community facilities, such as bistro, hair salon, specialist gym and village hall. These will be open to the public and provide the venue for a vibrant events and activities programme, which is regularly advertised and ensures the village is integrated into the wider community.

There is a mix of one and two bedroomed apartments, available to rent or buy, and pricing will be released spring 2026, at which point it will be possible to view plans and reserve an apartment.

Belong at Home Southport – now operating

Our award-winning home care service, Belong at Home Southport, launched at the end of 2025, and is now operating locally, expanding steadily to support people living in the Southport area. This enables customers to enjoy Belong’s high-quality care in their own homes, supporting independence while remaining part of the wider community.

Belong at Home operates out of our newly opened premises in Southport, 4a Eastbank Street, PR8 1DW, just around the corner from the Atkinson. We’re open 10:00am – 5pm Monday to Friday and you’re very welcome to call in for a chat and a brew to find out more about our services and meet the team. Other services available when the village opens will include Experience Days, our specialist day care service, and an exercise and rehabilitation service specifically geared towards the needs of older people and making use of market leading equipment and technology in the gym.

Belong is highly regarded for its innovative care villages across the North West, and our eight villages have received national and international acclaim, in particular for their dementia design principles and care practice. It is this expertise that will go into ensuring that Belong Birkdale gives local people the opportunity to be part of a vibrant community, whilst also accessing specialist care services if and when they need them.
