"My parents were residents in Oak House and I have spent many long days and nights there. The kindness that I observed from every single employee was continuous and beyond exceptional. I always left Belong feeling so incredibly thankful that my parents were there where they were taken care of with an

abundance of love and warmth. Of course, I felt guilty for living so far away but I can honestly say that I think they were happier there than they would have been in any of my siblings or my home. They felt Belong was their home. My parents would not mince words or give praise if it was not due and I never once heard them complain. In fact, my dad would proudly whisper in my ear, “Isn’t it nice here?” They were always treated with the utmost respect and their dignity was maintained throughout.

I cannot adequately thank all the staff in Oak House, the nurses, the receptionists and any other staff involved who gave care to my parents. You make a difference. You are the best!"

"My mother and father were in Belong for the last two years. If there were another 10 stars available then Belong Macclesfield would get them. Staff are personable, well trained and extremely kind to all. My parents were treated as family members in the home and thus were so happy there and swiftly settled.

It was home from home for them. The rooms are spacious and well laid out. The housekeeping/kitchen dining set-up is wonderfully practical and resident friendly too. Nothing is too much trouble. Having experienced previous homes, this was just a different level which was so reassuring. Systems for medication and doctor's visits are excellent allowing for swift reviews or changes to care. The care we also got as relatives was also very supportive and responsive. The cafe set-up is also great and allows for an easy change of scene without having to go far. Thank you Belong for looking after our parents so well, you’ve been wonderful and we really appreciate it. "

"A good transition from home, thanks to admin staff and staff in Cedar House. Particularly impressed by staff in Cedar House; kind, patient and proactive. Excellent attitude to residents and visitors. Same applies in the Bistro. Ample opportunities for residents to snack between meals; a bowl of fresh fruit would be a nice addition if feasible."

"Mum broke her hip in October 2023, since then household care staff in Oak have put in place a care plan of emotional and physical reassurance for both Mum and me. Hip op was cancelled due to complexity and so Mum has had to manage with a raised shoe. Through the care and support of staff in the household, Mum is beginning to walk with the aid of a walking frame. Two care staff to assist presently but hopefully, now Mum is strong, they will soon reduce to one staff member. Fitness training support from Belong Macclesfield, two times per week, is most welcome and helping Mum's progress."

"My mother-in-law has been receiving dementia nursing care at Belong Macclesfield for just over twelve months. The facilities and the household set up for residents is fantastic and not something I have seen at other care homes that I visited before choosing Belong. In addition, the care provided by all staff is unparalleled with staff providing excellent personal care and generating a warm, loving, environment for all residents within each household."

"Witnessing the decline through Alzheimer's of such a loving and loved woman, our magical mom and the love of our dad's life, has been indescribable and a real struggle. When my sister, our untiring girl-on-the-ground advocate, managed to secure a place in Willow House 16 months ago or so, we were so relieved. I live on the other side of the world, which limits the frequency and length of my visits, but through family descriptions, videos, pictures and my own visits I've experienced the warmth, specialist care and humour of all at Belong. They've helped us navigate the emotions and practicalities of this awful disease; Mom and our whole family are so respected and valued by the Belong family. We pinch ourselves that this kind of support is even possible and no words can thank everyone enough for what they do and how they do it. They turn up every day, helping our wonderful mom retain dignity in her dimming twilight and we feel her caring angels really do love her."

"My mum spent 5 years as a resident at Belong Morris Feinmann Home, moving in with decreasing mobility as a result of a spinal condition, eventually confining her to a wheelchair. Over the years she received the best quality care from warm, caring and skilled staff who provide a real home-from-home atmosphere. 

Her condition declined resulting in paralysis from the neck down so she became completely dependent on her physical care although mentally she remains fully alert. She then began to recover some mobility, aided in no small part by the exercise regime offered by the in-house physical instruction by Belong. Throughout her time at Morris Feinmann her situation was treated with the utmost care and sensitivity, adapting to her changes in physical ability. Mum has now relocated with her family to a care home in London and we cannot thank the manager and the team in Didsbury enough for the way they looked after Mum during her stay at Belong Morris Feinmann."

"Our wonderful Mum had been really struggling with advancing Alzheimer's at a previous residential dementia care home. Unable to cope anymore we were given no option but to move her. Belong has a particular brand of dementia care, it's pretty unique having viewed 15 dementia care homes. When Mum was 

offered a place at Belong I cried, the relief was immense.
We remain very grateful and thankful every day that our Mum is being cared for at Belong. Remarkably the previous aggression and acute emotional instability displayed greatly improved within months, due without question to the highly trained staff in dementia care. It's wonderful to know she feels very safe, loved and secure. I wonder how it can be that one care home can employ so many wonderful people who genuinely provide care and love every day in the way they do. Mum has been part of the Willow House family at Belong for 16 months, enjoying the social interaction and activities with lots of smiles and laughs along the way too."

"The care Dad receives at Belong Macclesfield is wonderful and he obviously feels content and very much loved. All staff work so hard and yet remain patient, kind, gentle and thoughtful. Although I wish that less agency staff had to be used, the ones that come are also very caring and often the same 

individuals so Dad tends to recognise some of them. He loves the home cooked food made by the hosts in each household and the treats that come up from the bistro.
Managers are visible and approachable which is so important. The reception staff are welcoming, helpful and kind.
After 7 months of my Dad being there, I inevitably have a few minor niggles, but they are usually down to time pressures on the staff and none of them actually impact on his wellbeing.
Most importantly for me, I feel completely confident that when I am not there, whether at work or on holiday, Dad is happy and well cared for by a wonderful team of dedicated staff. I can’t praise them enough. They deserve a raise!"

"My mum has recently passed away and cannot fault all staff of Belong Care Home during my mum's last few weeks, not just the staff on Oak but the whole building, from the caretakers to bistro staff. I cannot praise them enough. Especially my mum's last day with you, the staff on Oak not only watched over my mum but they took care of my daughter while she sat with Mum (as I could not get there in time).
So a huge thank you to you all from the bottom of my heart and family as a whole."

"I cannot recommend Belong Macclesfield highly enough. Mum has recently passed away there, and all the staff have been loving, caring, sensitive and supportive. They looked after Mum wonderfully during her final week, supported and loved Dad while he was trying to deal with her passing and even managed to make large numbers of their family feel cared for too. They are outstanding, and I cannot thank them enough. They continue to look after Dad and have made him feel part of their Belong family. I feel so confident and reassured that Dad will continue to be happy and feel loved and cared for in their hands."

"Since moving both my parents to Belong Macclesfield a month ago, I’ve been so impressed by its caring, family feel. They’ve made them feel loved and secure, taken an interest in them and tried to be flexible and adapt to their increasing needs. Managers are approachable, receptionists, carers and all other staff friendly, cheerful and patient. They listen to my concerns and try to sort them out. The carers I’ve met are either very good or outstanding. Having small households means Mum and Dad get to know them well and vice versa. Unfortunately, they have to sleep in separate rooms but they are trying to keep them together otherwise as much as possible. As a relative, I feel I can join in as a ‘part of the family’, but I also feel safe to leave them knowing that they have Mum and Dad’s best interests at heart. GPs call twice a week, qualified nurses are on hand and when the time comes, I feel confident they will also care for both my parent’s end of life with skill and compassion. "

"I am very happy with Belong and am so glad we chose it. The carers and nurses are wonderful with my mum and I have every confidence in the care that she receives. There is very much a family feel in the household, which helps both the resident (and their family) to feel at home, settled and included. All of the staff in 'the village' are excellent and I can't thank the management staff enough for all their help and support over the years."

"My wife has had dementia for over two years but suffered a major stroke in May 2022, resulting in her being paralysed down one side. I was fortunate enough to be offered care for her at Belong Macclesfield as she left hospital in June. My wife's communication is poor but it is lovely to see her face light up when one of the carers or nurses pops their head around the door. They have great empathy with her and obviously don't see this just as a job but go that extra mile to care for her. They make visitors at ease and welcome and I always leave after visiting my wife knowing that she is safe and getting the best care possible."

"Both my parents have lived at Belong Macclesfield, where they have received excellent care. The care is very personal, and every effort is given to know residents and respond to their needs and interests Communication with family is strong and regular, particularly at stressful times. My dad really enjoyed the strong relationships that we built with the carers, which was clearly a two-way thing when we witnessed how upset and sad they were when he died. Mum is able to be happy in her own world there, and we sleep at night knowing this was the right place for them both."
