"My dad loved his time at Belong and from starting with Experience Days last year to his end-of-life care there, I thought every aspect of the care there was amazing.

I had heard about Belong from a friend who recommended them. So when Mum had an accident and needed 24-hour care we arranged for her to stay at Belong for a few months. She really enjoyed the company and the lovely care provided by the wonderful carers. Eventually Mum went back to Belong and she has had a new lease of life despite her dementia. She was reluctant at first to leave her home, but now is happy and content in her household with her friends. She joins almost all activities and has a lovely relationship with all the wonderful carers. There is always someone there day and night. The biggest thing for us is that she said she feels safe and well looked after. Every time I speak to her she says “You don’t need to worry about me love, I am being well looked after”. This means the world when you cannot visit them every day. Thank you to everyone at Belong for the care, kindness and respect you have shown to our mum.

Mum was a resident within the Belong complex for a total of six years. I can only thank all the staff especially Cedar for the care, compassion and understanding during Mum's stay. Their mood was always friendly and cheerful when I visited. Mum was very comfortable with every care needs met. A huge thank you from my wife and I to Management and staff for all they did.

Our dad moved into Belong Wigan almost a year ago and we are so happy with everything. He settled in so well and was made to feel like he was ‘home’ from the very first day. The staff have a lovely relationship with the residents and nothing is too much trouble. As a family, we feel very welcome and very involved.

My mother-in-law has middle-stage dementia and has lived at Belong Wigan for ten months. She managed to live in her own home for quite a long time with live-in carers but became increasingly unhappy, didn't eat well and was basically fading away. We reluctantly moved her into Belong Wigan but it has proved to be a very positive change. The environment is bright, clean and welcoming and the staff make a huge effort to include her in lots of activities which were not available whilst living at home. She is now much happier (although the dementia prevents her from realising it) and she has regained lost weight. We cannot think of anything that could be improved at Belong Wigan and we thoroughly recommend it.

My aunt moved into Belong Wigan in September 2023 and has settled in very well. The staff on Cedar are excellent and provide fantastic care for her. Her health and well-being have increased enormously and it's a massive weight off our shoulders knowing she's happy and cared for. I would highly recommend Belong for its facilities, cleanliness and first-class staff and in my opinion, there's nowhere better.

"I can’t speak highly enough of all the staff at Belong in Wigan. Everyone you meet is busy but happy to help and above all, they look after my dad with care and attention that I find hard, even as his son, to understand how it’s maintained. His dementia has made him really quite difficult and the patience required to get him to do anything - get up, eat, behave (!) etc. - is impossible to maintain, unless you are a Belong person. We thank our lucky stars that we found this place, this home (in the familial sense) for Dad in the twilight of his life. They even bought him socks and new slippers for Christmas; how lovely is that?"

"A modern, purpose-built, homely and very well-maintained caring environment for residents with dementia... staffed by friendly, compassionate and dedicated carers. Full facilities present: scrupulously clean. Residents' rooms open directly into a lovely, spacious communal area "landscaped" by groupings of soft-furnishings with a TV viewing area, tables and chairs and an open-plan catering space... all permanently staffed in good number: no "institutional" corridors etc! Large, glazed panel doors give access to a lovely garden area. Qualified staff diligently deliver prescribed medications. Health issues are well monitored with timely interventions included from GPs and health care specialists when needed. There is a very detailed daily logging of personal care measures delivered for each resident which is available for viewing at any time via the online portal. There is a very good programme of inclusive, daily activities operated to stimulate and engage residents."

"Dad had been a household resident for about eighteen months now. Everyone is so friendly and understanding of the position we are in as a family and they have definitely helped us to cope with the best way of communicating with Dad and understanding his needs. The bistro and the venue are two brilliant resources which help us to treat Dad as he feels as though he has been out for a meal even though he has just changed rooms. Nursing staff are practical and caring. As a family, we are so grateful to all the staff at Belong Wigan who contribute to our peace of mind that Dad is in the right place and receiving the right care."

"We have sadly lost our dad recently. Very hard to think Dad is not here anymore, I miss him terribly. But, I wanted to say that the whole team at Belong had made Dad's life good. He was struggling with dementia, but the family at Belong gave us as a family really, really good memories to be left with. 

If Dad had still been at home things wouldn’t have been as happy as they were. Dad was so content and happy, the girls were absolutely great, caring, genuinely good-hearted people, perfect hearts. Really good place to be, made Dad's and our life so much better than it would have been. Thank you so so much, genuinely couldn’t have asked for more."

"My stepmother moved to Belong Wigan 20 months ago. She had dementia and other health conditions. I was worried she might not settle but she made the transition easily and her health and wellbeing improved. The household model works very well and does feel like home. It’s small enough for staff and residents 

to get to know each other well.
She enjoyed socialising in her household and taking part in some of the organised activities. Meals and snacks were home-cooked in the household and were varied and interesting. Her care was excellent in all ways and her family was welcome and supported too. The relatives gateway gave daily updates and allowed the family to exchange messages with staff.
Her health gradually deteriorated and she died recently, very peacefully and with family with her. The end-of-life care was compassionate and absolutely outstanding.
I am so grateful to the manager, care staff, nurses and everyone at Belong Wigan for all their warmth and care."

"My mother chose Belong Wigan as the place she wanted to be when she needed assistance to live independently. When she needed more than assisted living, she moved into a dementia unit.
The care, support and compassion provided by the staff at Belong is exceptional. A close friend who has worked in the 

care industry for over 20 years told me she wished all care homes delivered the same service. It is not only the residents and their families who are supported, but the staff have the tools needed to go the extra mile.
My mother was cared for by professional and friendly staff, who took time to know her and what she needed. I cannot thank everyone enough for the care and friendship you showed my mum and our family in her final years."

"The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were informed of everything that was happening. My dad was very well looked after, making sure all his needs were met and made as comfortable as possible. The rooms are very clean with all the comforts of home. The home is very secure. The app they have logs everything, which you can check anytime."

"Grandad always expressed he didn't want to go into a care setting, however, this was out of our control. This meant we instantly felt guilty when making the decision. After seeing, hearing and reading about Belong Wigan. Every one of us in the family was keen to get the ball rolling. From the beginning to the very end, the staff were with us every step. The bistro and reception areas are very welcoming and homely. Staff on the desk and behind the counters were always very friendly, nothing being too much trouble. They make an effort to know who you are and gain a professional relationship with you. The household staff and the nursing staff were amazing and I couldn't fault their kindness, support and love. The relatives gateway was a great way of checking in and communicating if we were unable to visit. Thank You Belong Wigan for the love, care and support given to us all and to Grandad.

"Having had recent experience of 2 other care homes in the area I consider Belong Wigan to be outstanding. It is a beautiful home, the household system is well thought out and my aunt has thrived there. The environment is homely, welcoming and very clean. Staff are friendly and helpful, always keeping my sister and I informed of our aunt’s progress. They have treated her with kindness, dignity and respect. The Relative’s Gateway is a valuable tool that allows relatives to access daily care notes online where you can see what has happened with your relative every day - what they have done, care they have had and what they have had to eat and drink, so reassuring when you are not able to visit every day. Messages can also be shared between relatives and staff. Sadly my aunt’s health deteriorated and she passed away peacefully there last week. We were treated with kindness and compassion, it was clear that the staff had become very fond of her and were affected by her passing as much as we were."

"I have been residing in one of the apartments here for nearly six years and found my life very satisfactory with the establishment in both the environment and staff who have always cooperated with my requirements, both physically and mentally. My wife was also cared for, for nearly five years, especially when needing special treatment and end-of-life care. I have appreciated the experience of meeting and having an association with so many kind people and ones who care for their fellow beings. Many thanks to all concerned, love and best wishes."

"Belong Wigan meets my sister's everyday needs and has a homely, welcoming atmosphere. My sister greatly appreciates the help she receives because of her medical conditions even when she can't express it in words. She is warmly reassured if she is ever unsettled. She loves to watch 'feature films' and sports on tv and she joins in with sing-alongs, discos and dominoes with the other residents as far as she is able. My sister really values the opportunity to attend the weekly communion service which meets her spiritual needs. She enjoys socialising with family and friends that visit and occasional trips out. Family and friends are warmly welcomed at Belong and Cedar staff know all the residents by name and their interests. I would highly recommend a visit for a family looking for a loved one's residential and nursing care."

"My dad is a resident at Belong, Wigan and has been for 9 months. He has Dementia and living at home was getting too difficult for him. From moving Dad into Belong, the care and treatment to both Dad and his family has been outstanding. The household set-up is not like a regular care home and with only eleven residents per household, it is very homely. I have recommended Belong to a number of people, as I feel the quality of care given is excellent."

"The set-up is more like a home rather than residential care and is a massive improvement on the home he was previously admitted to (not our choice as he was fit for medical discharge and had to go somewhere) and to nearly all the ones we went looking at. There are plenty of activities arranged so I do hope he joins in. On the whole, though it is a completely charming place and the care they are giving Dad is excellent. 5 stars."

"My aunt has been at Belong Wigan since April last year and my sister and myself are extremely happy with the support provided by all the staff. We are kept fully informed about her care and nursing needs, are welcomed when we visit each week and find the staff friendly, professional and caring. They fully understand our aunt as an individual and she enjoys their company and values their care. We definitely feel Belong is an excellent care/nursing home with dedicated staff at all levels."

"Coming to terms with what happened to Dad has been the worst thing ever but knowing Dad is looked after and cared for has made things so much better and easier to cope with. You can see clearly just how much feeling is felt for what the girls can do, home from home and Dad's life is so much better.

"My mum has been a resident for over four years and the care she gets is exemplary. I cannot fault any of the staff as mum wouldn't be where she is today if it wasn't for them. We thank them from the bottom of our hearts."
