Friendly felines, adorable dogs, and happy hamsters are just some of the furry friends that have already entered Belong Crewe’s ‘cutest pet competition’, which is running between the 1st April and the 4th May, in celebration of National Pet Month.
The village, located in Brookhouse Drive, is welcoming all proud pet owners from the local community to call into the village with a photo of their cuddly companion, plus a one pound entry fee, to be in with a chance of winning a prize for their pet. All funds raised will go towards future activities for residents of Belong Crewe.
When the competition closes a group of finalists will be invited to bring their pets to visit the village for judging. Residents, many of whom already own pets at the village, will choose and award the lucky winners with gift vouchers for nearby pet store Petcetera.
Belong villages are focused on the provision of independent living and residents are encouraged to keep pets as companions, to enjoy the interaction, loyalty and relaxation that they can bring to the lives of older people.
Melanie Saywell, General Manager at Belong Crewe, was delighted with the response so far from members of the local community. She said: “We believe our residents should live independent lives that reflect how they choose to live. Many of our residents find comfort and companionship in keeping pets at the village. What better way could there be to celebrate National Pet Month than with a cutest pet competition?”
