Nonsense reigned at a Mad Hatter's Tea Party in Belong Wigan, in Platt Bridge, recently, as fun-loving residents and staff came together to celebrate international Mad Hatter's Day.
Customers from the Belong apartments and community village donned fabulous hats for a tea party with a difference, joined by Alice and the Mad Hatter. A Wonderland-themed buffet of tea, cakes and nonsense was followed by an appearance by the White Rabbit on the dancefloor, culminating in a conga line through the village Bistro.
Marion Clarke, a Belong Wigan customer, said: "No two days are ever the same here, but this was a Sunday afternoon like no other. We all had a knees-up on the dancefloor, and the costumes were fantastic. I'd never heard of Mad Hatter's Day, but any excuse will do for a party."
Belong Wigan General Manager, Gill Menguy, said: “Everybody loves a chance to let their hair down, regardless of age, and the Mad Hatter's Tea Party was a great success. It's always a delight when members of the local community join us for events like this."
