Residents at Belong Morris Feinmann have been preparing for the Jewish new year. Residents and apartment tenants at the village have been making floral gifts and traditional treats ahead of the festivities to celebrate Rosh Hashanah.

The community at Belong Morris Feinmann came together to create small floral arrangements, which are traditionally given as gifts at new year. Residents and apartment tenants also took part in a baking session where they made a traditional honey cake to be enjoyed at the end of a special meal on Rosh Hashanah eve, while residents and customers who took part in the weekly art therapy session made Rosh Hashanah cards.

Everybody at Belong Morris Feinmann is looking forward to celebrating the three-day festival with a traditional Rosh Hashanah meal in the village’s bistro on Wednesday evening, which will feature chicken soup with kneidlach and tsimmes, followed by wine and prayers. On Friday, a singer will be performing traditional Jewish songs in The Venue, the village’s hub for socialising and events.

Angela Luckett, experience coordinator at Belong Morris Feinmann, said: “We’re really looking forward to the New Year celebrations. It’s a time for coming together, a time for family and a time to look ahead to a sweet new year.”

Pat Hertz, who was the first resident to move into Belong Morris Feinmann when it opened earlier in the year, said: “I am really excited to be part of the festivals here in my new home. My family will be coming, it will be great to spend time with my friends here, and there are many wonderful meals planned. This first year is just the beginning.”
