Warrington’s Deputy Mayor, Councillor Karen Mundry, was amongst those in attendance to mark National Care Home Open Day when Belong Warrington invited the local community to a day of tours, arts and crafts, live entertainment and celebrations.
While meeting the customers, staff and visitors, Councillor Mundy also joined in with the birthday celebrations of Sam Clark, a resident of Belong Warrington who decided to move in permanently after attending an Experience Day at the village two and a half years ago. At 90 years of age, Sam is enjoying a new lease of life, including learning to play the trumpet under the instruction of fellow resident Neil Palmer.

Kerith Pepperdine, experience coordinator for Belong Warrington, said: “Our open day was a huge success, and I’d like to thank my team of organisers for ensuring that everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day. I’d particularly like to thank Deputy Mayor Karen Mundry and her Consort Hans Mundry for taking the time to pop in and speak with the visitors and staff.
“National Care Home Open Day is always a brilliant opportunity to celebrate the brilliant individuals that make up both the customers and staff here at Belong Warrington. Our doors are always open to the public, and we hope the day will encourage people to continue making use of our facilities and maintain the connections that have been forged.”
