Why did you decide to take up a job in the care sector?
I enquired about roles at Belong Morris Feinmann as I’ve got a long history with the Morris Feinmann home, where many of my family members used to live. I came across the role of experience coordinator and thought it would be perfect for me as I have a lot of experience in organising events and activities and I consider myself to be both compassionate and patient. I felt that joining the care sector in this capacity would enable me to enhance the lives older people.
What do you enjoy most about this job?
This job is the most rewarding job that I have ever done in my life. I look forward to having the opportunity to bring fun and laughter to the lives of our residents and visitors.
What is the most challenging aspect of this job?
There is a great learning curve involved with supporting people living with advanced dementia and the end of life aspect of this job is a very emotional journey.
What do you think makes working for Belong unique?
Belong is a wonderful and unique organisation and that is largely down to the people; everyone here is so dedicated to supporting older people and we are all so excited to get to know all of the residents.
What’s your favourite way to relax after long day (or night) at work?
I attend yoga classes regularly and find them very relaxing. I also enjoy spending time in my garden and with my friends and family.
