A charity spring fayre organised by Hindley Green Family Church has resulted in a donation of £780 to Belong Atherton. The money raised will support valuable ‘Vecta Deluxe’ equipment, a portable sensory experience unit specially designed for those who require full-time care.
Stephanie Channings from Hindley Green Family Church said: “We are delighted to help raise money for such a great cause in Belong Atherton. Many of our members work or volunteer at the care village, hosting weekly Songs of Praise sessions with the residents and other activities. We are planning to have another charity fayre in the autumn and would love to continue both events annually, as it is a wonderful opportunity to bring our community together and support local charities.”
Gemma Willetts, experience coordinator for Belong Atherton, said: “I want to thank Stephanie and everyone from Hindley Green Family Church for their incredibly generous donation. The equipment will be used for group sessions with our residents to enhance stimulation and create a relaxed atmosphere across the venue, such as in the bedrooms of those receiving end of life care.”
