Eagle-eyed TV viewers in Staffordshire and the West Midlands may have spotted some Comic Relief fun at Belong Newcastle-under-Lyme, last week, as the village’s fundraiser featured on BBC Midlands Today news.
In the lead-up to the special occasion, customers and colleagues have been busy creating their very own Mr. Men characters – Belong Men – with their work used for t-shirts, hoodies, mugs, stickers and keyrings to sell to customers and visitors.
Throughout the day itself, the team set up camp in the bistro, with members of the public popping in to make their purchases, as well as view the designs on display in the Belong Heritage Gallery.
Bryony Benbow, lead nurse at Belong Newcastle-under-Lyme and the project’s manager, said: “Everyone really enjoyed it, and I think it got a bit competitive with the designs and the selling – everyone wants to win! Above all, it’s brought everyone together, which is great. Thank you to all who have supported this worthy cause.”
Everyone at Belong Newcastle-under-Lyme is grateful to the community for their generosity, helping to raise over £235 in aid of Comic Relief 2023.
