Outdoor spaces

At Belong Newcastle-under-Lyme, we recognise the importance of access to fresh air and nature and the village features a range of outdoor spaces.

Our bistro opens onto a courtyard overlooked by the historic Maxims building. Once the site of the original potteries kiln excavated here, the courtyard features a number of heritage features for the enjoyment of the whole community. It has also provided the setting for a range of public performances and events.

Dementia-friendly garden

Our ground floor households open directly onto a dementia-friendly sensory garden, while those on upper floors feature spacious balconies with pleasant views over this space.

This arrangement means the garden is a lovely focal point in fine weather, with garden entertainers able to be enjoyed throughout the village. The garden is a private and secure area where residents can walk with purpose, relax or get involved in all aspects of gardening.
